Hello, I'm new to the forum, and while not new to growing Plumeria I'm still a beginner! I'm starting off this season with 5 gorgeous cuttings from MPG and a few seeds I'm going to try my hand at. I've been reading through the posts while my membership was approved and I look forward to talking Plumies with you all!

Thank you both! Thank goodness there's somewhere to discuss this crazy addiction

These are my little darlin's, planted last night and put out in the sun today:

I have (from left to right)

Mystery
Kaneohe Sunburst
Pauahi Alii
Jeanne Cecile
Kimo

I had a beautiful group of different types a few years back that I idiotically stored in a shed instead of the garage I had been storing in and I lost them all. That won't ever happen again!!!

That IS funny! And my neighbor must be scratching his head watching the crazy lady move her sticks into the sunlight 3 times yesterday and then back out in the morning!!! I'm chasing the evening sun to get as much in as possible.

Thank you! - they are a good looking bunch of sticks, aren't they?
It seems I've come to the right place, I've already learned some great things here. One great idea I saw was the plastic strawberry container for a seedling mini greenhouse - I planted my seeds last night, I think it's my best bet.

Thank you! I will definitely keep you all updated! It's been chilly in the mornings but warms up to 80 in the afternoon and of course I bring them in at night for now. I have to put them out before I go to work when it's still chilly but it's not for very long before the sun's out fully. The weather's looking good for the week too! YAY!

I wet the ends, dipped them in rooting hormone, watered them in with Super Thrive and put the pea gravel on top for stability (wow, that made a HUGE difference)Now it's up to the sun. :D

Yay! Another Austin plumeria grower! I have a little mini-club going with some friends from San Antonio on the GW forum. Most plumeria fanatics in Texas are centered around Houston so it's nice to meet another Central Texan. Welcome!

Your cuttings look terrific, and I use the big plastic salad containers for seedlings. You'll be surprised how quickly plumeria seedlings outgrow those strawberry containers. I did find that when I kept a lid on them I had some rot issues. Just misting once a day while germinated should do the trick in an open container. It's only a few weeks from planting before they're ready to be moved to a bigger pot.

Jen, most plumeria growers are centered ON Houston. You can't center around something. Bing's a schoolteacher, and I can't get away with that. :) best, Jay
