For the last 2 years now I have been rooting my new cuttings with an egg about 1-2 inches under the bottom of the cutting...have not lost 1 yet. Even the inflos still flower...anyone else been doing this? When I go to transplant the next year...the egg is then hollow...should I still leave it there or keep all in tact and move into bigger pot? thanks, rox146

Yes, I used this method and it worked well. But I think it also depends on variety. Some of my varieties still took long time despite egg and heat. I have tried other methods too and can not say one is better than other, for me.
I think I have best chances and quickest rooting in early spring and summer.Later part of summer is too rainy here and cuttings get too wet since I have everything outdoor.
